Black Sheep Supports Nidderdale Charity Walk

The Black Sheep Brewery has again pledged its support as a major sponsor for the walk, which has four different ability levels from a four mile paved walk for disabled entrants to a 22 mile challenge. Last year the event attracted more than 1100 walkers who raised in excess of £50,000 for local charities.

Brian Rushton, Secretary of Rotary Club of Harrogate said; “Over the last 16 years, the Nidderdale Charity Walk has raised more than £½ million for local charities, and now more than ever those charities need our help. The walk is a fun, safe way to help organisations like Horticap, which provides training and education in horticulture for adults with learning difficulties, raise much needed funds and make a discernable difference to our community.”

Paul Theakston, MD of primary sponsor, Black Sheep Brewery said; “We have been a firm supporter of the Nidderdale Charity Walk for a number of years, recognising the real benefits it brings to communities across the region. The walk takes in some of the area’s most beautiful scenery, and some great local pubs – so not only are you raising money for the charity of your choice, you’re also having a fun time doing it! The walk is also a great warm up for our Boots & Beer event that takes place in Hawes on the 11-13th September”
